The Magyar Hungarian Derby

Kinscem Park, named after the champion thoroughbred racehorse Kincsem (1874 - 1887) means 'My Precious'. She is a national icon and was the most successful racehorse ever, having won 54 races from 54 starts both in Hungary and in Europe.

More recently the racecourse has enjoyed the success of Hungarian racehorse Overdose nicknamed “ the Budapest Bullet” following a streak of victories - including a 10-length demolition of the Group 3 Premio C E F Aloisi field in Italy after 'winning' the voided running of the 2008 Prix de l'Abbaye.

The Magyar Derby is a Group 3 race run over 1½ miles.
