Additional Info

Munich, the capital of Bavaria and the gateway to the Alps, is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. You can't go wrong when exploring the city than to start at Marienplatz, the central square that houses the New Town Hall. For a place with such an intriguing past we recommend taking a guided tour to really discover the heart and soul of the city. Of the many beer halls in Munich its most famous is the Hofbrauhaus, a social hub in the city where tourists and locals alike flock to sample the famous litre beers! Another top attraction is the Viktualienmarkt (daily food market), where you can sample traditional German cuisine. Alternatively, you can visit the many and varied museums or take an afternoon stroll in the beautiful Englischergarten, one of the largest urban parks in the world.
The racecourse in Munich is situated in Riem, about 5 miles outside of the city centre. The left handed track has an excellent racing surface and is generally regarded as one of the best and fairest in Germany. The track itself dates back to 1895 and its main races are the Group 3 - Bavarian Classic each June and the Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr - Preis in July. The latter is Germany's most important 10 furlong race which regularly attracts an international field. In 2016 the Andre Fabre trained Elliptique passed the post first with Frankie Dettori at the reins, followed by Royal Solitare ridden by Andrasch Starke and trained by P Schiergen.
For the Grosser Dallmayr - Preis, you will be accommodated in the 2nd floor of Club Tribune where you will have a buffet lunch including wine, beer and soft drinks. The restaurant affords panoramic views across the racecourse. Your table is yours for the day so you can come and go as you wish.
